Edward L. Helminski

Edward L. Helminski is a physicist who has been actively engaged in
complex technical issues in the public arena for more than 30 years.
Helminski convened the first conference ever on high-level nuclear waste
for state legislators in conjunction with the American Association for the
Advancement of Science (AAAS) in 1974. In 1976, as Director of Energy and
Natural Resources Program for the National Governors’ Association, he
worked with the first Secretary of the Department of Energy, James
Schlesinger, and his staff to convene the First White House Conference on
Energy. Following a one-year tenure to support the White House in
addressing the fuel oil/gasoline crisis in 1979 as the Deputy Director of
the White House Management Task Force on Energy Shortages, he founded
ExchangeMonitor Publications, Inc. in 1981 with the publication of the
Radioactive Exchange (now The International Radioactive Exchange) and
initiated the Decisionmakers’ Forums. |
