NNSA sets groundwork for standalone Pantex contract with request for information
The National Nuclear Security Administration on Friday sought industry input on the looming competition for a contract that will split management of the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, Texas, from the Y-12 National Security Complex in Tennessee. The agency expects to award the contract by March 2024 after a competition that it estimates will begin on April 24 with the release of a final request for proposals. A draft request for proposals could land as soon as March 10 and, in the meantime, the agency plans to hear industry’s responses to Friday’s Request for Information until Feb. 13.
