The Department of Energy issued a request for proposals this week for a new contract to provide technical and management support services for the Office of Fossil Energy this week. The contract is being set-aside for small businesses that meet a size standard of $35.5 million, and is set to run for up to 60 months, consisting of a two-year base period and three one-year option periods. The contract will be an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity-type that will have a variety of task orders competed under it, including Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), Firm Fixed Price (FFP) and Time and Material (T&M) or Labor Hour (LH) task orders.
Work to be provided under the contract, according to DOE, includes system design and implementation, procedural and informational technology systems support and application of Department financial and information management databases and policies adopted for use in Fossil Energy studies, analyses, reporting, preparation and integration of processes and procedures, preparation of recommendations for new or enhanced procedures for more effective management and increased stakeholder and customer satisfaction, and research efforts to assure optimum coordination of financial management responsibilities. Task areas include Special Studies and Reports, Planning and Budgeting, System Engineering and Integration Support, Conference Management Support, Program Execution Support Office Assistance, Information and Business Management Support and FE Environment, Safety, and Health Activities Support. Proposals are currently due by Jan. 21, 2014.
