By ExchangeMonitor
DUF6 Project contractor B&W Conversion Services, LLC, earned 87 percent of its available award and incentive fee in Fiscal Year 2013, according to information released yesterday by the Department of Energy. The contractor earned $1.88 million out of $2.16 million in available award fee. “The contractor met the majority of performance goals and objectives for this period,” the scorecard states. “Significant achievements include multiple simultaneous line operation of each plant, maintaining a safety conscious work environment with TRC rates below goals, safe handling of over 2 million gallons of hydrofluoric acid, and prompt performance of cylinder transfers to support DOE initiatives.”

BWCS said it is happy with DOE’s assessment. “We’re pleased that PPPO had so many good things to say about the work we did last year. It was a challenging year and we appreciate being rewarded for it,” BWCS President George Dials said in a statement. The contractor earned 66 percent of its combined incentive and award fee available for the year, or $2.93 million out of $4.44 million available. The incentive fee is based on the amount of DUF6 processed during the period— The contractor is paid $77 per metric ton. During the period, BWCS processed 13,578 metric tons, earning $1.05 million.
