Industry: Air Force to Award FISAC Ground Subsystem Contract Today

By ExchangeMonitor
Industry officials expect the Air Force today to award a contract to sustain the Ground Subsystem portion of the Future ICBM Sustainment and Acquisition Concept, an executive told Weapons Complex Morning Briefing in an email yesterday. Northrop Grumman and Boeing have announced that they are bidding on the Ground Subsystem, whose award is expected just five days after the Air Force awarded Boeing a $51.2 million contract to sustain the Guidance Subsystem. The Air Force has not confirmed the anticipated award date, as a service spokesman told Weapons Complex Morning Briefing the service cannot comment on specific contract actions until an official announcement is made. The Ground Subsystem contract is expected to be the third of four FISAC Subsystem awards. The Air Force in June awarded Lockheed Martin a $452 million FISAC contract to maintain the Minuteman 3 Reentry Subsystem, and the service is slated on Oct. 1 to award a FISAC contract to sustain the current Propulsion Subsystems for ICBMs.
