WIPP Waste-Shipment Tracker

Shipments of Transuranic Waste to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) from other DOE Sites (from resumption of shipments the week of 04/03/2017 through 07/31/2023).

DOE Shipping Goal :   The Energy Department hopes to receive 680 shipments at WIPP during calendar year 2023, (It has received 269 shipments as of July 31, 2023).

DOE’s Actual Shipments for CY 2023 Through 07/31/2023: 269 shipments shipments, or 9 shipments a week based on 30 calendar weeks.

Total Projected Shipments for 2023 Through 12/31/2023 at current weekly shipping rate: 467 shipments (not accounting for holidays, weather or maintenance outages).
