Amec Foster Wheeler Receives Yearlong Dounreay Design Contract

Dounreay site license company Dounreay Site Restoration Limited has awarded Amec Foster Wheeler a 12-month contract for the design, safety basis, and environmental assessment of a new higher activity store to hold waste arising from decommissioning activities at the Scotland nuclear site, Amec Foster Wheeler announced yesterday. “The decommissioning of the Dounreay site is an extremely demanding and complex process and one that is well suited to the skills we have in Amec Foster Wheeler,” said Leigh Wakefield, director for the company’s clean energy business, said in a statement. “The design of this state-of-the-art facility is a key element in the decommissioning strategy of the site and one that we are looking forward to delivering for this important client.”
