CELERITEX, LLC, WINS NEW DOE WIPP MOBILE LOADING UNIT SERVICES

By ExchangeMonitor

Celeritex, LLC—a joint venture of Project Services Group, LLC and DeNuke Contracting Services—has won the Department of Energy’s new contact to help prepare transuranic waste for shipment to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant for disposal. The new contract, which was set aside for small businesses, is worth up to $17.8 million and is set to run for up to five years, consisting of a three-year base period and two one-year option periods, according to a DOE release issued yesterday. Work to be provided under the contract entails loading contact- and remote-handled transuranic waste into approved packaging at various DOE and defense-related waste generator sites for shipment to WIPP. Celeritex is currently set to assume responsibility for mobile loading services Nov. 1, after a 15-day transition period, according to DOE.
