By ExchangeMonitor

The Department of Energy now appears set to be able to move forward with transition for the new Portsmouth environmental technical services contract, as two protests that had been filed over the award with the Government Accountability Office are coming to an end. Shawnee Environmental Technical Services Alliance, LLC, is withdrawing its protest after learning more about DOE’s decision to award the contract to Restoration Services Inc., Weapons Complex Monitor has learned. The move comes after Portage officially withdrew its protest late last week.

The new Portsmouth environmental technical services contract, which was awarded to incumbent RSI in July, is worth an estimated $43 million over five years. Services to be provided under the contract include program management; planning and integration; environmental safety and health and quality assurance; waste management; regulatory support; investment recovery; nuclear material disposition and nuclear safety; environmental restoration and regulatory compliance; D&D oversight and infrastructure support; and technical and administrative services.
