DOE Deputy Secretary Poneman to Announce Departure Plans Today

Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman is expected to announce today his plans to leave DOE, effective this fall, Weapons Complex Morning Briefing has learned. Poneman has served as the No. 2 official in the Department for the past five years, having been confirmed by the Senate to serve as Deputy Secretary in May 2009. He also briefly served as acting Secretary of Energy from April 23, 2013, to May 21, 2013.
