The Department of Energy is gearing up to move forward with the planned recompete of the Portsmouth environmental technical services contract, with a draft Request for Proposals set to be issued in about a week, according to a notice released yesterday. The new contract will be set-aside for small businesses, with a size standard of 500 employees. The new contract is anticipated to be a cost-plus-award-fee type, and is set to run for up to five years, consisting of a three-year base period and one two-year option period, according to the June 12 notice. DOE also plans to hold a presolicitation conference, site tour and one-on-one sessions with industry officials on June 26 in Piketon, Ohio, near the Portsmouth site. Interested companies will be limited to no more than three representatives, according to the notice. For more information on the pre-solicitation conference, please click here.
