DOE SEEKS MARKET RESEARCH FOR WASTE TREATMENT

By ExchangeMonitor
The Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management is seeking market research information on potential companies capable of treating low-level radioactive waste and mixed low-level waste originating from its federal facilities, according to a Sources Sought Synopsis/Request For Information posted yesterday. The current Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contracts for the waste treatment services ends next year in June, and this posting begins the planning stages for a follow on procurement. “DOE is seeking interested parties that have the specialized capabilities, or will soon have the specialized capabilities, required to accept, store, repackage, and treat DOE waste types,” the posting said. The posting stressed that this is just a request for information, and not a request for proposals. Interested companies are asked to submit a 20-page capability statement to be assessed by DOE. Responses are due by 4:00 p.m. on April 28, 2014.
