DOE TO HOLD INDUSTRY DAY FOR FUTURE IDAHO CLEANUP PROCUREMENT

By ExchangeMonitor

The Department of Energy plans to hold an industry day Dec. 4 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to discuss planned procurements to replace the current cleanup contracts at DOE’s Idaho site once they expire at the end of Fiscal Year 2015. The “contemplated procurement(s)” will cover the remaining work at the Idaho site once the current Idaho Cleanup Project and Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Project management contracts come to an end, according to a notice published late last week. “The anticipated number of procurement(s), types of contract(s), period(s) of performance, amount of funding, or set aside possibilities are to be determined,” the notice says. “The objective of Industry Day is to obtain information on industry capability to assist the Department in formulating its acquisition strategy and as a result, answers to questions regarding future Request for Proposal(s) for contemplated procurement(s) will not be available at this Industry Day event.”

Prior to the industry day, DOE plans to issue a Request for Information seeking companies with the capabilities to perform all, or portions, of the planned work. “With release of this RFI, the DOE intends to seek ideas and acquire feedback from contractors and other interested parties regarding options for innovative approaches for the division of scope elements as well as insight into contracting options to achieve the Environmental Management (EM) goals. At this time we expect that capability statements will be due on December 20, 2013,” the notice says. Pre-registration by Nov. 26 is required to attend the industry day. More details on the event can be found here.
