Edlund Named DOE Facility Rep of the Year

By ExchangeMonitor

Jeff Edlund of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Production Office has been named the Department of Energy’s facility representative of the year.

Edlund oversees operations at the enriched uranium facilities at the Y-12 nuclear weapons plant in Oak Ridge, Tenn.  He received the award last week at the National Facility Representative Conference in Las Vegas.

According to information provided by the NNSA, Edlund joined the Production Office in 2010 as part of the “NNSA Future Leaders” program.  He was a safety basis and safety system oversight engineer before becoming a facility representative in February 2014.

He has a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Tennessee.

In a statement, NPO Manager Geoff Beausoleil said, “Mr. Edlund represents the NNSA with a passion for the mission and a selflessness that puts the needs of the organization above his own. He sets strong examples for both federal and contractor employees in the areas of safety, security, quality, mission delivery, and cost effectiveness.”

Beausoleil said Edlund’s leadership exceeds expectations.
