Kurion, Inc. announced yesterday that William Gallo has been appointed Chief Operating Officer. Most recently Gallo served as CEO of AREVA Solar, Inc., and was previously CEO of AREVA Federal Services where he worked with the Department of Energy at various weapons complex sites, Kurion wrote in a release. Gallo also served as a director on the Board of the Energy Facilities Contractor Group (EFCOG). “Bill is a highly respected executive in the power and environmental management industry,” Ralph DiSibio, executive chairman and CEO of Kurion, said in a statement. “The knowledge and experience Bill has in growing businesses with a global perspective is in alignment with the Kurion vision in becoming a major force in applying superior technologies to the challenges facing the environment.”
Before joining AREVA, Gallo served eight years as senior vice president of Transnuclear, part of the AREVA Group, where he led the company into the commercial nuclear decontamination and decommissioning sector, Kurion wrote. Prior to Transnuclear, Gallo served at Hanford for five years, including as director of projects for the Westinghouse/Fluor K-Basin project.“This position offered me an opportunity to apply my skills to the many challenges faced in the nuclear business,” Gallo said in a statement. “Kurion, chaired by Ralph, brings the technology and leadership to solve some of the most difficult waste issues around the world. I look forward to making a significant contribution to growing Kurion into a worldwide leader.”
