Noyes Named Assistant Manager for Hanford WTP Startup

By ExchangeMonitor

The Department of Energy has picked Delmar Noyes as the assistant manager for Hanford Site Waste Treatment Plant startup, commissioning, and integration, effective Nov. 12. He will support integration of the waste storage tank farm and the Waste Treatment Plant to assure close coordination during startup and commissioning of Hanford’s tank waste treatment facilities and will be responsible for operations of those facilities.

Ben Harp, now the deputy manager of DOE’s Office of River Protection at Hanford, held the position for many years.

Noyes joined the Office of River Protection in 2001. He has 29 years of experience managing projects involving nuclear operations, maintenance, deactivation and environmental remediation. He most recently was acting assistant manager and deputy assistant manager for the Waste Treatment Plant, which is being built to convert up to 56 million gallons of chemical and radioactive waste at Hanford into a glass form for permanent disposal.
