OAK RIDGE’S ESCHENBERG NAMED UPF FEDERAL PROJECT DIRECTOR

By ExchangeMonitor

John Eschenberg, who is currently serving as the interim manager of the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge Office, is taking over as the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Federal Project Director on the multi-billion-dollar Uranium Processing Facility. Eschenberg had headed up cleanup activities at the Oak Ridge Office before taking over as the acting federal head of the office in September, but the NNSA said in an announcement yesterday that he will transition to the UPF design and construction project in April.

Notably, Eschenberg served as Federal Project Director for the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant—the largest construction project in the Department of Energy—before he came to Oak Ridge. According to the agency, Eschenberg is a Level IV Project Manager in the Department’s Project Management Career Development Program.
