Consolidated Nuclear Security said this week it has sealed a new collective bargaining agreement with Pantex Plant workers represented by the West Texas Building Trades and Construction Council.
The new three-year deal was the result of several weeks of negotiations beginning on Jan. 6, according to the contractor. It went into effect as of Feb. 10 and will expire on the same date in 2019.
The agreement covers 17 WTBTCC members who work at the plant.
“The new contract is mutually agreed upon by Consolidated Nuclear Security and the West Texas Building Trades and Construction Council which helps ensure an enduring Pantex mission for the nuclear security enterprise and the Texas Panhandle. We’ll consider appropriate public release of information at a later time,” CNS spokesman Steve Myers said by email on Wednesday.
CNS, a consortium primarily consisting of Bechtel National, Lockheed Martin Services, Orbital ATK, and SOC, took over management of the Pantex Plant and Y-12 National Security Complex in Tennessee in July 2014. Pantex is charged with the assembly and disassembly of nuclear weapons, among other nuclear stockpile work for the National Nuclear Security Administration.
