SELLAFIELD NAMES NEW EXECUTIVE OFFICER

By ExchangeMonitor

Tony Price has been named the new Executive Officer at the United Kingdom’s Sellafield site, according to Nuclear Management Partners, the parent body organization responsible for overseeing the site. Price last held the position of Director of Major Projects at Atkins. In his new role, Price will be supporting Sellafield Ltd. Managing Director Todd Wright’s “drive for focused improvements in areas including the Legacy Ponds & Silos programme,” NMP said in a release issued yesterday. Notably, the announcement came just a day after British lawmakers issued a report criticizing the U.K. Nuclear Decommissioning Authority’s management of the cleanup of the Sellafield site and of NMP’s performance there. Price is not unfamiliar with Sellafield, having served from 2001-2007 as executive director for decommissioning and major projects and as chairman of the LLWR Site Company for British Nuclear Group.
