Six More Cases of COVID-19 Pop Up at Hanford

By ExchangeMonitor

After 4 p.m. Pacific Time Monday, managers at the Department of Energy’s Hanford Site in Washington state were informed that six more employees have tested positive for the coronavirus.

News of the latest surge of COVID-19 cases at Hanford was posted on the DOE emergency operations website for the former plutonium production complex.

This pushes the total number of confirmed cases at Hanford since the pandemic began to 205. That is an unofficial count based on daily bulletins posted on the website, plus a public assessment offered in early October by the site’s top fed, Brian Vance. Counting four cases reported reported to management over the weekend, that makes 10 new cases at Hanford in under a week.

The coronavirus pandemic is reportedly setting new records daily across most of American society, according to press accounts. As of Tuesday morning, there have been 10.2 million cases and 239,000 deaths, as a result of COVID-19, according to an online Google dashboard based upon data gathered by The New York Times.
