IN DOE

The Department of Energy late last week extended the response time an extra month for its solicitation for a contractor to assist in the movement of spent nuclear fuel from research reactors to an unidentified national laboratory. The new response date will be April 13, compared to the original March 9 deadline. The DOE Office of Nuclear Energy, through the Idaho Operations Office, is responsible for the disposition of university research reactor spent nuclear fuel, and this contract aims to help ensure the transportation of the fuel. According to the statement of work, the contractor would be responsible for all tasks required to transport spent nuclear fuel.
