Bechtel Awards Quality Control Services Subcontract at Hanford

Bechtel National has awarded NV5 Holdings an estimated $1.5 million contract to support nuclear cleanup at the Hanford Site, NV5 announced on Monday. The company provides professional and technical engineering and consulting services, and will perform quality control field and laboratory testing and construction materials inspection at Hanford’s Waste Treatment Plant, according to an NV5 press release.

When finished, WTP will transform millions of gallons of radioactive and chemical waste stored in Hanford underground tanks into a stable glass form for permanent disposal, the release states. "Novation of this contract to NV5 is consistent with NV5’s commitment and desire to continually provide high quality engineering and construction testing services to Bechtel and other design/construct firms in both the DOE nuclear and commercial nuclear power industry,” said NV5 Vice President for Nuclear Services and company WTP Site Manager John North in a press release.
