AtkinsRéalis finishes out 2025 on a strong note

By Trey Rorie

Earnings rose at AtkinsRéalis Group Montreal, Canada in the fourth quarter, which the company attributed to the sustained demand for its engineering services and nuclear capabilities, according to its Feb. 27 press release.

Net earnings for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31 were (CAN) $95 million (US$69.5 million) or (CAN) $0.57 a share, up from (CAN) $52.4 million (US$38.3 million) or (CAN) $0.30 a share, in the year-ago quarter.

Quarterly revenue was (CAN) $2.9 billion (US$2.1 billion), up year-over-year from (CAN) $2.5 billion (US$1.8 billion). AtkinsRéalis saw a significant jump in yearly revenue between 2024 and 2025. In 2025, the company’s revenue was (CAN) $11 billion (US$ 8 billion), which increased from 2024 with (CAN) $9.66 billion (US$ 7 billion).

Quarterly segment operating income for AtkinsRéalis’s nuclear sector was $599.8 million (US$ 439.2 million), up from $464.3 million (US$ 340 million) a year ago. Yearly income in the nuclear sector enjoyed nearly a billion dollar jump between 2024 (CAN $1.4 billion) and 2025 (CAN $2.3 billion).

Our fourth quarter performance concluded a great year as sustained demand for our Engineering Services and Nuclear capabilities drove strong revenue growth for AtkinsRéalis Services versus the prior year,”  AtkinsRéalis CEO Ian Edwards said in the release. “The first year of our Delivering Excellence, Driving Growth strategy was highlighted by the substantial Nuclear revenue and backlog growth, reflective of the resurgent demand for our nuclear capabilities and creating a new baseline for future growth and value creation.”

In December 2025, AtkinsRéalis was selected to deliver nuclear propulsion and engineering capabilities to Rolls-Royce Submarines. The contract is worth  £400 million (US$ 537 million) over five years with the option for extending two additional years.

Recently, the AtkinsRéalis-led refurbishment team for Ontario Power Generation’s (OPG) Darlington Refurbishment project completed the refurbishment of Unit 4, the final unit of the decade-long project. OPG announced that the project was completed in early February.
