BECHTEL SAYS IT INCREASED REVENUE IN 2012

By ExchangeMonitor

Bechtel Corp. experienced an increase in revenue in 2012 compared to the previous year, but also saw a significant decrease in new awards, the company announced late last week. For 2012, Bechtel had revenue of $37.9 billion, up 15 percent from the previous year, according to a company release. Last year, Bechtel had new contract awards of $23.9 billion, a drop from 2011’s “unprecedented performance” of $53 billion, the company said. As a privately held company, Bechtel is not required to report profits.  “Following a record year in 2011 when we experienced unprecedented demand for LNG projects, each of our business units delivered solid performances in 2012,” Bechtel President and Chief Operating Officer Bill Dudley said in the release. “We believe 2013 will be another strong year for Bechtel.”
