BWXT hires Walker as Canadian government relations VP

By ExchangeMonitor

BWX Technologies (BWXT) said this week it has hired Bill Walker as its vice president, government and stakeholder relations in Canada.

It is a newly-created position, according to BWXT. A three-term member of the Provincial Parliament and deputy speaker of the Ontario Legislature, Walker has more than 30 years of experience in  government, energy and not-for-profit sectors, BWXT said in the Monday press release.

Walker has also been the associate minister of Energy and Minister of Government and Consumer Services,  BWXT said.

On the energy front, Walker worked in the Marketing and Business Development division at Atkins-Realis and was president and CEO for the Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries, BWXT said.

“Bill brings a wealth of experience and knowledge about the Canadian nuclear industry and the nexus with energy policy,” said John MacQuarrie, president, BWXT Commercial Operations. The release did not say when Walker was starting the new post.
