BWXT Promotes Carter to Senior VP for Government, Communications

By ExchangeMonitor

BWXT has named Regina W. Carter as its senior vice president, government affairs and communications. Carters has been a vice president for the company since 2015.

In addition to heading up government affairs and communications, Carter also serves as a member of BWXT’s executive staff and strategic planning team, BWXT President and CEO Rex D. Geveden said in a Nov. 23 news release.

With more than 30 years of industry experience, Carter began her career with BWXT as a communications specialist. She became director of business and employee communications in 2010 when the company became publicly traded before being named BWXT’s VP of government affairs and communications in 2015.

Carter has a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in journalism from Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Va., where BWXT is based. In 2015, Carter was named by Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe to the board of the Virginia Nuclear Energy Consortium Authority. She was re-appointed in 2017.

BWXT joint ventures provide management and operations at more than a dozen Energy Department and two NASA facilities. The parent is an active player in the North American nuclear power business.
