Clarification

By Staff Reports

A June 8 article in Weapons Complex Monitor cited the Idaho Site and the Southwest Experimental Fast Oxide Reactor (SEFOR) as “small cites” in Energy Department cleanup operations, and failed to include the Separations Process Research Unit, the West Valley Demonstration Project, and the Nevada National Security Site. While the Energy Department’s fiscal 2019 budget proposal lists Idaho and SEFOR under the heading of small sites, DOE’s Office of Environmental Management considers such locations to be having an annual budget of no more than $100 million, which are also administered by the Environmental Management Consolidated Business Center.
