Clinton Voices Opposition to Yucca Mountain

By ExchangeMonitor
Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton voiced her opposition late last week to Yucca Mountain, according to an interview she gave with the Reno Gazette-Journal. Clinton has long opposed the project going as far back to her initial presidential run in 2008, and she re-voiced those concerns last week. “I have opposed sending nuclear waste to Yucca Mountain, based on what I know today and based on what I understand about the geological formation and I am still opposed,” Clinton said. “It would be the position I am most comfortable taking at this time.” Other candidates seeking their party nominations have been across the board on Yucca Mountain. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida) supports the project, while Jeb Bush has opposed the project.
