Details available on upcoming Hanford lab procurement sessions

Parties interested in learning more about the draft request for proposals (RFP) for the 222-S Laboratory management contract at the Department of Energy’s Hanford Site in Richland, Wash., should sign up by Tuesday July 7 for a site tour and information sessions later this month.

The department will hold a Hanford Site tour on Tuesday July 14, with a focus on the 222-S Laboratory, DOE said in documents released with the draft RFP

Then on July 15 and 16, “DOE will hold one-on-one information exchange sessions to obtain constructive input from interested firms regarding the 222-S Lab procurement,” according to the notice. “The one-on-one information exchange sessions are provided as an opportunity for interested parties to present their thoughts and suggestions on the procurement,” DOE said.

Sorry, DOE presentations at the information session cannot be recorded or copied, according to the notice.

DOE announced issuance of the draft RFP in late June.

Navarro-ATL, formerly Hanford Laboratory Management and Integration, is the current venture in charge of lab management and operations.  In December, DOE and Navarro announced a one-year extension of the current contract. The extension would keep the current 222-S management team in place into early January 2027.

The current deal is valued at about $636-million.
