DNFSB TO HEAR FROM SENIOR DOE OFFICIALS TODAY ON SAFETY CULTURE

By ExchangeMonitor

The Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board is scheduled to hear from senior Department of Energy officials today on DOE’s efforts to improve the safety culture at various sites. Among those scheduled to testify is Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman, Chief Health, Safety and Security Officer Glenn Podonsky and Senior Advisor for Environmental Management David Huizenga. The meeting is intended to serve as a supplement to a DNFSB meeting held near Hanford earlier this spring that examined efforts to improve the safety culture at the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant. The meeting is scheduled to be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the DNFSB’s headquarters in Washington.
