DOE COMPLETES NEGOTIATIONS WITH CWI ON IDAHO CLEANUP CONTRACT EXTENSION

By ExchangeMonitor

The Department of Energy announced yesterday that it has finalized a long-planned three-year extension for CH2M-WG Idaho, the cleanup contractor for DOE’s Idaho site. CWI’s initial seven-year contract for the Idaho Cleanup Project was set to expire on Sept. 30. According to DOE, the anticipated value of the extension is approximately $730 million. "Over the past seven years CWI has been able to complete its environmental cleanup mission ahead of schedule and under budget. CWI has also been successful in accelerating work in the current contract, allowing for out year work scope to be pulled forward and completed earlier. It is in the public’s best interest to maintain this momentum for an additional three years," DOE-EM Manager for the Idaho Cleanup Project Jim Cooper said in a release.
