DOE GEARING UP TO RECOMPETE PORTS. INFRASTRUCTURE CONTRACT

The Department of Energy is gearing up for the recompete of the Portsmouth infrastructure services contract, announcing June 6 that a draft Request for Proposals is set to be issued in the next 15-to-45 days. The new contract is being set-aside for small businesses, and is set to run for up to five years, consisting of a two-year base period and three one-year option periods. The contract is expected to include Firm-Fixed-Price, Cost Reimbursement, and Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract line items (CLINs), DOE said.

Work to be performed under the contract, according to DOE, includes surveillance, maintenance and repair of facilities; janitorial services; grounds maintenance, snow removal, and pest control; roadway/parking lot maintenance; computing, telecommunication, and cyber security; fleet management; real and personal property management; records management and document control; safeguards and security; environment, safety, health, and quality (ESH&Q) program; and training services. DOE said that “tentatively anticipates issuance” of a final RFP for the new contract “in or around” the fourth quarter of Fiscal Year 2014, with the new contract expected to be awarded “in or about” the second quarter of FY 2015.
