DOE interested in small contractors for Hanford work

By ExchangeMonitor

The Department of Energy said last week it will shop around for qualified small businesses capable of doing general support service work at the Hanford Site at Richland, Wash.

The DOE Office of Environmental Management published a sources sought notice Aug. 26 on Sam.gov and on the Environmental Management Consolidated Business Center website.

The DOE Office of Environmental Management is surveying the marketplace to gauge the availability of qualified, small businesses. This includes those that are disadvantaged, woman-owned or veteran-owned, to do various support work at Hanford.

According to the notice, DOE is seeking help at Hanford including support in areas such as finance and administration, management of contractors and subs, project planning, engineering, construction and security.

Capability statements should be emailed to DOE by 2 p.m. Eastern Time on Sept. 16, according to the notice. The notice includes the usual disclaimer that this is not a request for proposals and there is no guarantee a federal contract will ultimately result from the process.
