The Department of Energy has awarded four indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts for technical support services at the Hanford Site in Washington state.
The agency’s Office of River Protection at Hanford issued the awards on Nov. 20 to Independent Strategic Management Solutions, Inc., of Richland, Wash.; Street Legal of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; JFA-RC Technical Services, LLC, of Richland; and Katmai Health Service of Anchorage, Alaska. The contracts were restricted to 8(a) small businesses, which are small businesses with 51 percent ownership by socially and economically disadvantaged U.S. citizens.
The four companies will compete for future IDIQ task orders to provide personnel for technical work at a fixed hourly rate, according to DOE. The one-year base period of each contract is not to exceed $8 million, with two one-year extensions possible. The total value is $49.9 million, with spending increasing as current technical support services assignments and contracts end. The goal is to increase competition for technical support services to provide cost-effective task orders, according to DOE.
