DOE Releases Final RFP for Oak Ridge Transuranic Waste Processing Center

By ExchangeMonitor
The Department of Energy yesterday released its final Request for Proposals for support services at Oak Ridge’s Transuranic Waste Processing Center. The procurement is being set aside for small businesses meeting a $38.5 million size standard. DOE is anticipating a 1.5 month transition period for the five-year contract starting on May 16 that will be completed on July 1, 2015. The facility is currently being run by incumbent Wastren Advantage, Inc., under a contract set to expire Jan. 1 with a six month extension option that seems likely to be granted. DOE will hold a pre-proposal conference and site tour on Oct. 28 and questions are due November 5.
