The Department of Energy earlier this week released a Request for Quotation for a $24.5 million environmental technical services contract at the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant. The small business contract would run for three years with an additional two-year option period, with a goal of assisting environmental remediation and decontamination and decommissioning work at Paducah. The notice comes amid the likely end of operations of the Paducah plant and a return to DOE by USEC in June 2013. The contract would include a wide variety of support areas, such as: baseline support, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, environmental safety, waste management, project management support, D&D, transition support, surveillance and maintenance, administrative and infrastructure support, field services and closeout.
