DOE-RICHLAND AWARDS NEW ADMIN. SUPPORT CONTRACT

By ExchangeMonitor

Salmon Group Inc. has won a new contract to provide administrative support services to the Department of Energy’s Richland Operations Office, according to a notice published yesterday on the FedBizOpps Web site. The new contract, which was competed as an 8(a) small business set-aside, is an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity-type contract with firm fixed-price task orders. The contract is set to run for up to five years, consisting of a three-year base period set to run from Sept. 16, 2013-Sept. 15, 2016; with two one-year option periods.

According to a DOE notice, the contract has a ceiling value of $5 million, though Salmon Group’s “total combined price for each base and option year” was $2,934,054.35. “The award was made to the offeror whose proposal was determined to be the lowest price technically acceptable offer, considering the evaluation criteria in the RFP,” the notice said, adding, “As stated in the RFP, all evaluation factors other than price, when combined, were significantly less important than price. Salmon Group, Inc., provided a technically acceptable proposal at the lowest price.”
