ENERGY AND WATER APPROPS BILL ON HOUSE SHORT-TERM AGENDA

By ExchangeMonitor
The House could take up the Fiscal Year 2013 Energy and Water Appropriations Act before Father’s Day, House Majority Leader Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said in a memo to GOP lawmakers late Friday. Cantor listed the bill, which provides funding for the National Nuclear Security Administration and the Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management, as one of several possible pieces of legislation that could be on the chamber’s agenda for the next three weeks, including the FY2013 Homeland Security and Legislative Branch Appropriations bills, though he cautioned that “we continue to work with the [Appropriations] Committee on exact schedule.” The chamber will take up its first appropriations bill of the year Thursday and Friday when it acts on the FY2013 Military Construction and Veterans’ Affairs bill.
