FirstEnergy Third Quarter Earnings Beat Expectations

Days after firing CEO Chuck Jones and two other executives, FirstEnergy Corp. reported third quarter earnings of $0.84 per share on revenue of $3 billion, up from $0.73 per share on revenue of $3 billion in the same quarter last year. 

The Akron, Ohio-based company reported third-quarter profit of $454 million.

FirstEnergy shares have lost about 38.9% since the beginning of the year versus the S&P 500’s gain of 1.2%, according to Zacks analysts. This quarter’s earnings beat analyst expectations of $0.80 per share.
