GOP LAWMAKERS NAME FOUR TO NNSA GOVERNANCE PANEL

Congressional Republicans continue to finalize their choices for the National Nuclear Security Administration governance panel, with GOP members of the House and Senate Armed Services committees announcing their selections yesterday. House Armed Services Committee spokesman Claude Chafin confirmed yesterday that chairman Buck McKeon (R-Calif.) had picked retired Adm. Kirkland Donald, the former head of the NNSA’s Naval Reactors Program, and former Bush Administration national security expert Frank Miller, for the panel. For the Senate Armed Services Committee, Ranking Member Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) has picked former Strategic Command chief Adm. Richard Mies and former Reagan Administration Under Secretary of State for Security Assistance, Science and Technology William Schneider, a past chairman of the Defense Science Board.
