Hanford tank farms contractor Washington River Protection Solutions earned almost all of its available fee for Fiscal Year 2011, according to information the Department of Energy released this week. In total, WRPS earned $33,126,746.90 out of an available $33,334,089.90. The contractor’s fee included approximately $32 million tied to a set of performance-based incentives, with a reduction of $7,343 “in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act portion of the Performance Evaluation Measurement Plan,” according to a Jan. 13 fee determination letter. WRPS was “very successful in the completion of planned Performance Based Incentives in FY 2011,” wrote Scott Samuelson, manager of DOE’s Office of River Protection at Hanford. WRPS’ fee determination also included $1.2 million in award fee out of an available $1.4 million. The DOE letter did not provide additional information as to why the earned award fee was reduced by $200,000, though it did note that WRPS “is continuing to improve in the areas where the reductions occurred.”
