HOUSE APPROVES SIX-MONTH CONTINUING RESOLUTION

By ExchangeMonitor

The House yesterday approved 267 to 151 a six-month Continuing Resolution to fund the federal government beyond the March 27 expiration of the current Continuing Resolution. Under the new House CR, most government programs would be funded at the current levels minus the across-the-board sequestration cuts that went into effect late last week. However, the CR would keep in place an anomaly for the National Nuclear Security Administration’s weapons programs that allows the agency to spend at the level of President Obama’s FY13 request, $7.58 billion. And the House bill also would allow funding to continue for the Department of Energy’s cost-share program supporting USEC’s American Centrifuge Project, which would be supported until the end of the fiscal year under the CR at a total level of $150 million for FY13.
