Intera Nevada Inc. is the firm behind a pending size standard challenge filed against Navarro Research and Engineering over its recent win of a new contract to perform environmental program services at the Nevada National Security Site, the Small Business Administration confirmed yesterday. The SBA expects to make a decision on the challenge by Oct. 28, according to an agency spokeswoman. INTERA had been teamed with Navarro on the previous NNSS environmental program services contract, but chose to lead a bid of its own for the new contract, which the National Nuclear Security Administration awarded to a Navarro-led team in late September. The NNSA and Navarro have suspended performance of the new contract while the size standard challenge is being considered. The new NNSS environmental program services contract was set aside for small businesses, and is estimated to be worth $59 million for performance over a one-year base period with four one-year option periods.
