Korte Construction awarded $52.4M contract for nuclear command facility

Korte Construction Co. has received a $52.4 million contract to build a nuclear command, control and communications acquisition management facility in Bedford, Mass., according to the Defense Department.

The St. Louis, Mo.-based construction company was awarded a firm-fixed-price contract valued at $52,361,853, with a total cumulative face value of $55,415,514, the Pentagon’s Sept. 22 contract release said.

The contract calls for construction of a facility supporting nuclear command, control and communications acquisition management, sometimes referred to as the fourth leg of the nuclear triad. Work is expected to be completed by June 6, 2029.

The Army Corps of Engineers solicited bids and received five offers for the project.

Fiscal 2026 military construction, defense-wide funds totaling $52,361,853 were obligated at the time of the award.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Concord, Mass., is overseeing the contract.
