Here are a few events worth noting this week:
- On Dec. 5, the DOE Environmental Management Advisory Board is holding a public meeting at DOE headquarters from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Among those scheduled to speak are acting Assistant Energy Secretary for Environmental Management David Huizenga, acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Program Planning and Budget Terry Tyborowski and EM Recovery Act Program Director Thomas Johnson. - On Dec. 6, the Senate Ad Hoc Subcommittee on Contracting Oversight is holding a hearing on whistleblower protections. Among those scheduled to testify is Walt Tamosaitis, a URS employee who has alleged he was removed from working on the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant for raising safety concerns. The hearing is scheduled to be held in Room SD-342 in the Dirksen Senate Office Building beginning at 10:00 a.m.
- On Dec. 7-8, the Energy Facility Contractors Group is holding its Semi-Annual meeting at DOE headquarters. Among those scheduled to speak at the meeting is acting Assistant Energy Secretary for Environmental Management David Huizenga, National Nuclear Security Administration Principal Deputy Administrator Neile Miller, Nuclear Energy Institute President and CEO Marv Fertel, DOE Office of Management Director Ingrid Kolb, DOE Chief Health, Safety and Security Officer Glenn Podonsky and Rep.
