- Arms Control will be the topic of a joint hearing of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittees on Europe, Eurasia and Emerging Threats and Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Room 2172 of the Rayburn House Office Building. Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Nuclear and Strategic Policy Anita Friedt and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Brent Hartley will testify at the hearing.
- New National Nuclear Security Administration chief Frank Klotz will make his first formal appearance before Congress at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Room 192 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building when he testifies before the Senate Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee.
- Congressional Nuclear Cleanup Caucus briefings for the Idaho National Laboratory and the Richland Operations Office are also scheduled this week. The Idaho briefing is set to occur at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, and will include presentations by officials from the Department of Energy’s Idaho office and contractors Idaho Treatment Group and CH2M-WG Idaho. The Richland briefing is set for 8:30 a.m. Thursday and will feature officials from DOE Richland, CH2M HILL Plateau Remediation Company, Washington Closure Hanford and Mission Support Alliance.
