LOOKING AHEAD

Here are a few events worth noting this week: 

  • The Senate Foreign Relations Committee is scheduled to vote on the nomination of Mike McFaul to be ambassador to Russia at 2:15 p.m. Nov. 15 in Room S-116 of the Capitol.
  • Rep. Michael Turner (R-Ohio), the chairman of the House Armed Services Strategic Forces Subcommittee, is headlining a discussion about “Missile Defenses and American Security” at 9 a.m. Nov. 16. The event, sponsored by the American Foreign Policy Council, takes place in Room 122 of the Cannon House Office Building.
  • The Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board is holding a public hearing Nov. 17 in Santa Fe, N.M., on seismic safety concerns at Los Alamos National Laboratory, and specifically at the lab’s Plutonium Facility. The two-part meeting will run 1-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center.
