Nuclear industry journeyman John Meyers has been hired to run point on TechSource’s business with the Department of Energy and its semiautonomous National Nuclear Security Administration.
The Los Alamos, N.M., company in May hired Meyers as vice president for federal nuclear programs, making him the “principal officer for all National Nuclear Security Administration and Department of Energy (DOE) field business development activities,” according to a company release.
Meyers was already in Los Alamos, working for Los Alamos National Laboratory prime Triad National Security integrated subcontractor Huntington Ingalls Industries as executive officer for weapons production. In that role, according to his LinkedIn profile, Meyers was responsible for “developing and implementing high-value approaches for laboratory operational efficiency and assured excellence” under Dave Eyler, Los Alamos’ associate laboratory director for weapons production.
Meyers had been at Huntington Ingalls Industries for a little more than five years before jumping ship to TechSource, which is one of Triad’s integrated small business subcontractors. The science and engineering consultant has more than 500 employees.
Prior to Huntington Ingalls, Meyers spent a handful of years in business development roles at Teledyne Brown Engineering and Pittsburgh-based small business NuVision Engineering.
