Most recent NNSA acting head Teresa Robbins leaves for OREM

By Sarah Salem

Teresa Robbins, until recently acting administrator of the National Nuclear Security Administration, is taking a deputy field manager position at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge Office of Environmental Management.

Robbins was removed from the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) leadership page. She updated her LinkedIn page this week to indicate she has been appointed the second-highest ranking person at the much smaller branch of DOE.

Robbins has overseen NNSA for several months until last week’s swearing-in of Brandon Williams following his Senate confirmation.

Robbins becomes deputy manager for nuclear cleanup at the Oak Ridge Site in Tennessee, a source told the Exchange Monitor. Eric Olds became manager at EM’s Oak Ridge field manager in June after serving as acting manager there since March and the retirement of prior Oak Ridge Manager Jay Mullins. Robbins will become deputy manager on-site. .

Robbins knows her way around Oak Ridge, having previously served as the Y-12 field office manager for NNSA. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering from University of Tennessee, according to her profile on the DOE’s website that does not include her new position. Robbins has more than 20 years of experience in nuclear roles in the DOE nuclear complex, according to her bio.
