NNSA SET FOR BUSY DAYS ON HILL NEXT WEEK

it’s going to be a busy week on Capitol Hill for the National Nuclear Security Administration next week. In addition to Thursday’s House Armed Services Strategic Forces Subcommittee hearing, NNSA or national laboratory officials will appear before the Senate Armed Services Strategic Forces Subcommittee Tuesday and Wednesday. Los Alamos Director Charlie McMillan, Sandia Director Paul Hommert and Livermore Director Parney Albright will be joined by Charles Shank, the co-chair of the National Academy of Sciences committee examining the quality of science and engineering at the labs, at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Acting NNSA Administrator Neile Miller, NNSA weapons chief Don Cook, Naval Reactors director Adm. John Richardson, DOE Environmental Management chief David Huizenga and Government Accountability Office Natural Resources and Environment Director David Trimble will appear before the subcommittee at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Both hearings will take place in the Senate Russell Office Building.
